Course Description
Full-circle, in-depth review of expert how-tos of cosmetic injections and facial anatomy! Designed for all experience levels and led by experts at the leading organization for cosmetic dermatologic surgeons, the course includes a series of high-yield lectures, panel discussions, live patient demonstrations featuring simultaneous anatomy demonstration on a prosected cadaveric cephalus specimen, real world case studies, hands-on training, plus more. Highlights include:
  • Comprehensive facial analysis and assessment as applied to cosmetic injection
  • Age-related structural changes to the face plus gender and ethnic considerations
  • Essential injection facial anatomy, including small group in-depth anatomy deep dive
  • Properties of and indications for biostimulators, hyaluronic acid fillers and neurotoxins
  • Injection preparation pearls on neurotoxin dilution, hyper-blending, hyper-diluting and back-filling, and reconstituting poly-l-lactic acid in small-group format with hands-on training
  • Strategies, tools and techniques for safer injection procedures with optimal outcomes
  • Small group hands-on training with experts for injection techniques with needles and cannulas

Learning Objectives

Following this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Recognize and identify facial anatomy as it relates to the use of cosmetic injections.
  • Relate the principles of facial symmetry, aesthetics and aging to treatment strategies.
  • Apply knowledge of facial anatomy, patient assessment, injectable agent properties and tools, and injection techniques to formulate comprehensive cosmetic treatment plans.

Vince Bertucci, MD, FRCPC
Co-Director

Dr. Bertucci is the current ASDS President-Elect. He is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, and is founder and Medical Director of Bertucci Dermatogy in the greater Toronto area of Ontario, Canada.


Sue Ellen Cox, MD   
Co-Director

Dr. Cox is the current ASDS President. She is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, and is the founding Medical Director of Aesthetic Solutions in Chapel Hill, NC.




Kimberly Butterwick, MD
Faculty

Dr. Butterwick is a world-renowned, board-certified dermatologist and is recognized as an expert injector who pioneered several fat transfer techniques and mastered advanced techniques for all synthetic fillers for optimal beauty of the face and body. She is in private practice with Cosmetic Laser Dermatology in San Diego.


Jordan Carqueville, MD
Faculty

Dr. Carqueville is a double board-certified dermatologist, a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, and an expert in cosmetic, medical and surgical dermatology. She is the founder of the Derm Institute of Chicago and is currently the President of the Chicago Dermatologic Society.


Rebecca Fitzgerald, MD
Faculty

Dr. Fitzgerald is a board-certified dermatologist and an internationally recognized expert in the field of cosmetic dermatology. She an author, teacher and speaker to national and international audiences, and is currently in private practice in Los Angeles.


Deirdre Hooper, MD
Faculty

Dr. Hooper is a board-certified dermatologist and serves on the ASDS Board of Directors. She is cofounder of Audubon Dermatology in New Orleans and is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at both Louisiana State University and Tulane University.

Omer Ibrahim, MD   
Faculty

Dr. Ibrahim is a board-certified, fellowship trained dermatologist. He currently practices at Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology, in Chicago.



Jonathan Sykes, MD, FACS
Faculty

Dr. Sykes is one of the most highly respected board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States, and is renowned for teaching facial anatomy for cosmetic injections. He is currently Director of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at The Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills.
