Description
This webinar will review findings from a cohort study of 370 participating dermatologists, exploring best practices in consideration to reducing vascular occlusion when administering filler injections via needles vs micro-cannulas. The session will start with a summary of the key findings from this retrospective cohort study, followed by an expert panel discussion of the publication.

Following this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Discuss occlusions by filler and instrument type.
  • Identify risk factors for vascular occlusion after filler injection.
  • Implement preventive strategies to avoid vascular occlusion.

Dr. Alam serves as the director of the Northwestern University ACGME-approved Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship, and ASDS Accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship.

Derek Jones, MD

Dr. Jones is a board-certified dermatologist. He is the founder of Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills, where he is the Medical Director.


Robyn Siperstein, MD

Dr. Siperstein is a board-certified dermatologist. She is the founder of Siperstein Dermatology Group, serving the Palm Beach County area in Florida.


Nowell Solish, MD, FRCPC
Faculty / Panelist

Dr. Solish is in private practice Toronto and is an Associate Professor at The University of Toronto, as well as the director of Mohs surgery at Women's College Hospital. He is a recognized expert in cosmetic dermatology and known for his work with neuromodulators and the cosmetic injectables.
