Description
Every day we experience different situations that can affect us personally whether we are at home or at work. We may react differently to these situations when compared to someone else and this is due to many reasons. Whilst one person may cope well with pressure, another person may not be able to deal with that pressure in a similar way – this is because we are all unique.
Human factors refer to environmental, organizational and job factors, and human and individual characteristics, which influence our behavior at work and home in a way that can affect our decisions and actions.
This two-part webinar is for anyone who wants to learn more about human factors and how they can impact our lives, at both work and home. It is especially relevant for NDT inspectors, who need to be aware of the potential negative effects of human factors to make safe and accurate decisions and inspections.
During these webinars, we will explore the role of human factors in our lives, specifically as NDT Inspectors, and what we can do to recognize them and minimize their effects.
Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the two-part webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe what the common 12 human factors are
- Recognize factors in their own lives
- Identify how these human factors could negatively influence their behavior
- Recognize how human factors can negatively affect safe working practices
- Use mental models to identify a plan of action to minimize the effects of their human factors
