The adoption of composite materials for building civilian aircraft and space launch vehicles has imposed changes upon our approach to nondestructive testing for these components and structures. Production volumes, material complexity, and physical size have all increased in recent years, presenting unique challenges to those tasked with verifying the structural integrity of these components. This webinar will discuss some of the challenges presented by the inspection of these items, from the smallest components to the largest fuselage structures. It will highlight how robotics and automation contribute to the manufacturing of the most sophisticated vehicles ever made by humans.
