Carol Pape, CAE, is the Executive Director for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and the International Transplant Nurses Society, which are clients of the Association Management Center (AMC) in Chicago. Before joining AMC, Carol held various roles at the Association of Professional Chaplains for the past 15 years, most recently serving as its Chief Operating Officer. In addition, she was the Vice President of Programs for the Northwest Suburban Association of Commerce and Industry and President of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce. She received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, earning her Certified Association Executive credential in 2013.
Carol was the recipient of the 2016-2017 John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award given by Association Forum. She served on the board of directors of Association Forum from 2017-2021, as well as the Forum’s CAE Working Group and chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee.
A lifelong volunteer, Carol has served in many capacities at her church, the PTAs at her children’s schools, and on the boards for a local women’s counseling center and school education foundations.
Sharon Kneebone, FASAE, CAE, is executive director for the
National Society for Histotechnology, Ellicott City, MD. A frequent thought
leader sharing her association management experience with peers, she authored
Defining the Culture Through Policy in the Professional Practices in
Association Management 4th Ed. She authored a chapter for the Component
Relations Handbook, 2nd Ed. Sharon has served on the ASAE
Component Relations Section Council, the CAE Commission and is a past chair of
the ASAE Foundation Research Committee. When not busy with NSH or sharing her
passion for association management, she can be found hiking the Patapsco Valley
with her foster-fail pup, Quinn!
The two words most often used to describe Laura R. Caputo
are “resourceful” and “motivational.” If there is a problem to solve or a team
member that could use extra support to get a tough project completed, Laura
will be there to figure things out and push them to the finish line.
Laura R. Caputo, Esq., is Chief of Staff to the CEO at the
Turnaround Management Association, an association serving professionals in the
corporate restructuring and turnaround industry. As Chief of Staff, Laura is an
integral resource for the Chief Executive and Senior Team in execution of TMA’s
strategic initiatives, developing processes to drive efficiency, enhance the
experience of TMA’s volunteer leadership, and support the growth of the
organization’s international membership.
After a decade in private practice, Laura brought her
problem-solving and critical thinking experience to the association world. Most
recently, Association Forum selected Laura as a 2020 Forty Under 40 award
recipient and invited her to participate in its inaugural Latinx Advisory
Group. Laura is Chair of the #2 Executives/COOs SIG at Association Forum, and a
member of the Roundtable Taskforce at the Florida Society of Association
Executives, and the Technology Committee at CARE, a financial education nonprofit.
