Rob Paterkiewicz, CAE, MBA is the CEO of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and the immediate past-chair of the Association Forum board of directors. Recently, Paterkiewicz oversaw a combination awareness and feasibility study on the Selected Education Trust, the 501(c)(6) arm of the organization, to gauge member awareness of its philanthropic initiatives and determine how to increase interest and support for its programs. In this episode, a companion piece to his article in the June/July issue of FORUM, “The Rewards of Philanthropy”, Rob discusses how organizations can strengthen its mission and bottom line through effective fundraising.

    Michelle Mason is the President and CEO of Association Forum. Association Forum is the “association of associations” in Chicago. Founded in 1916, it has nearly 4,000 members. Prior to Association Forum, Michelle served as a managing director at the American Society for Quality (ASQ). In this role, she concentrated on business development, membership, component relations, innovation, advocacy, social responsibility, and process improvement efforts. Prior to she was Vice President of Strategic and Future Focused Research at the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE).

    Rob Paterkiewicz is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, a trade association meeting the needs of independently owned and operated funeral homes worldwide. Rob has served in this position since 2007 and oversees a staff of twelve professionals. He is ultimately responsible for directing all activities associated with this $2.5 Million, 500-member organization. Rob also serves as the Administrative Trustee of the association’s charitable subsidiary, the Selected Independent Funeral Homes Educational Trust.
