Continuing Education Credit Program

  1. What CEU types are available?
IACET CEUs: ATIA is an International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) CE Provider. Each hour of online education instruction equates to 0.1 IACET CEU, and hours are rounded to the nearest tenth of an IACET CEU; for example, a 90-minute course equates to 0.2 IACET CEUs.

IACET CEUs are offered for all online courses. Upon completion of a course, learners must complete an online IACET CEU assessment. The IACET CEU assessment includes quiz questions based on the learning outcomes of the course. Learners must achieve an 80% pass rate on the assessment to be eligible for IACET CEUs. Once the learner has passed the assessment, the IACET CEU certificate will be available to download. All IACET CEU certificates earned are stored in the learner’s profile.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) CEUs: ATIA is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) CE Provider. ASHA CEUs are offered in speech-language pathology and audiology through ASHA via ATIA’s status as an approved ASHA CE Provider. Not all education sessions offered qualify for ASHA CEUs. Please check the individual session description in the Learning Center for ASHA CEUs.

Each hour of online education instruction equates to 0.1 ASHA CEUs, and ASHA CEU hours are rounded to the nearest half hour. For example, a 60-minute course equates to 0.1 ASHA CEUs and a 90-minute course equates to 0.15 ASHA CEUs.

*Please note that ATIA issues an ASHA Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of an ASHA CEU assessment and not does issue ASHA CEUs.

After a learner successfully completes an ASHA CEU Assessment with a 50% pass rate, the learner is awarded an ASHA Certificate of Attendance. After review by ATIA, learner records are transmitted to ASHA for processing. ASHA posts ASHA CEUs to an individual’s ASHA CE Transcript. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the processing of ASHA CEUs.

To ensure successful processing of ASHA CEUs by ASHA, it is critical to include your ASHA Membership number in your registration application. Registrations or learner records that do not include an ASHA Membership number may be subject to delays in posting to the ASHA CE Registry.

To participate in the continuing education program and earn ASHA CEUs, subscribers must pay an annual ASHA CE Registry fee. CE Registry fees are paid by the participant directly to the ASHA National Office. The ASHA fee allows registration to an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs earned in a calendar year.

Please visit the ASHA CE Registry web page for more details on the ASHA CE Registry and its fees.

American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) CEUs: ATIA is an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Approved Provider. Not all education sessions offered qualify for AOTA CEUs. Please check the individual session description in the Learning Center for AOTA CEUs. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA.

Each hour of education instruction equates to 0.1 AOTA CEUs, and AOTA CEU hours are rounded to the nearest half-hour. For example, a 60-minute education session equates to 0.1 AOTA CEUs.

Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) CEUs: ATIA is an approved provider with the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) CEUs for selected sessions. Not all education sessions offered qualify for CRC CEUs. Please check the individual session description in the Learning Center for CRC CEUs.

Each hour of education instruction equates to 1 CRC CEU hour. Hours are rounded to the nearest half-hour. For example, a 60-minute education session equates to 1 CRC CEU hour.

If you have any questions regarding CEUs, please visit the CEU web pag or contact ceus@atia.org.

  2. How do I obtain my CEUs?
CEUs can only be claimed once you have attended a live session or viewed a recorded session. Once viewed, you will be prompted to complete a feedback survey of the session. Upon completion of the feedback survey, a certificate of completion will automatically generate. You will then have access to the CEU Assessment & Certificates section. Select the CEU assessment you would like to claim CEUs for. Once you complete the assessment for the IACET, AOTA, ACVREP, and CRC CEUs you will be able to download your certificate. All CEU certificates that you earn are stored in your learner profile.

If you are claiming ASHA CEUs, upon completion of the ASHA CEU assessment, a certificate of completion will generate for you. ATIA will submit all responses to ASHA within the time frame allotted by ASHA. Please be sure to update your profile with your ASHA ID number for the ASHA review and approval process. ASHA will post ASHA CEUs to your profile on the ASHA CE Registry within 4-6 weeks.
