ABCs & AAC: Alphabet Books in AAC Implementation


There are many ABC books to cover lots of interest areas & span the range of ages. A wide variety of students can relate to them, create custom ones, sing them, sign them, & repeat them over & over again. Alphabet books can connect literacy to communication & give us a purpose to chat. These books set a purpose for a parent to talk with their child, a teacher to start a lesson or a child to reads by themselves. They are prolific & YOU can be using more in your language learning! Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be able to choose an alphabet book for an AAC language learning activity based upon 3 properties presented in the webinar.
  2. Participants will be able to adapt an alphabet book in 5 ways modeled during the webinar.
  3. Participants will be able to set up a data collection system based upon an interactive ABC book lesson.
