VE-EDU-08: On the Road to Supporting AT and AEM in Georgia

Overview

The Georgia Department of Education is building capacity for the use of AT across the State of Georgia by providing districts access to software, consultation services, and a lending library. The DOE is leveraging Tools for Life, Georgia’s AT Act grantee, to support our Georgia districts. These supports will help districts build their own capacity as well as offering the needed services to ensure positive outcomes for students. The Department of Education also has a focus on Accessible Education Materials (AEM) and is currently working with three districts to develop statewide technical assistance and supports for the acquisition of AEM.

Content Disclosure: This session is focused on implementation case studies and resources developed by the Georgia Department of Education and Tools for Life, Georgia’s AT Act grantee. There will be limited or no information provided about similar projects or case studies.
