VE-AAC-41: All Around the World: Supporting Language, Literacy, Learning and Leisure Skills

Overview

This session provides a framework for starting your own language, literacy, learning, and leisure group based on in-depth study of countries of the world. We will share diverse stories of how we have implemented this approach both in-person and remotely, with adolescents, teens, and adults, led by SLPs and parents. Focus will be on emergent / transitional learners, including AAC use. We will show samples of: materials, interactive opportunities, country components, and tools. We will discuss logistics and where to find materials to create your own country visits.

Content Disclosure: This session focuses on the All Around the World framework developed and implemented by the presenters for sharing with language, literacy, learning, and leisure groups for emergent / transitional learners, including AAC users. There will be limited or no information provided about other frameworks.
