V-ATPAP-03: ACCESSing Your Potential

Overview

Come on a journey with several members of the Assistive Technology Team of Blythedale Children's Hospital, where will be sharing ideas implemented in various clinical session/treatment plans for both children in the hospital and in the connecting Mount Pleasant School. This session will focus on identifying barriers to access that inhibit a child's ability to participate in daily living activities within the hospital setting, school, and home environment and the effects of participation based on certain diagnostic characteristics. Through case studies, we will review a variety of individualized access methods and prototype solutions trialed for children of different ages and functional levels, while maintaining the child as an active participant in shaping the decision making.
