Overview
Students with physical disabilities often do not have the same access to toys and activities as their non disabled peers. Toy Adaptation Day provides accessible toys for students with disabilities who would otherwise not have them. This session will describe the process of collaborating with the maker community, obtaining materials needed for the project, identifying recipients of adapted toys and switches, and organizing a successful Toy Adaptation Day.
Learning Objectives
- Describe four components to organizing a successful Toy Adaptation Day.
- Develop a four step plan of implementation for your own Toy Adaptation Day.
