V-MWAT-03: ALL Kids Can Code! How Co-Design + UDL = Inclusive Coding

Overview

All students benefit from coding opportunities, but the design of current applications limit meaningful participation of students with complex needs. Using a UDL approach and a co-design strategy, resources have been created to ensure all students are actively and meaningfully included in coding experiences. Join us to explore how a co-design approach gives a voice to the staff and students who are pivotal to effective learning, ensuring that what is important and what works remains the priority in development. Participants will also be provided with an opportunity to see co-design in action and examine many of the coding resources developed.

Content Disclosure: Bridges Canada has developed a curriculum series trademarked as debug'd Coding. Because there are no other like-kind products available, this session will only cover information that pertains to the effective use of the above-named product. This presentation will focus exclusively on the Coding to Learn and Create project and Debug'd coding and will not include information on other similar or related projects or curricula.
