V-EDU-18: Implementing Project Equip: AT Collaboration for Inclusive Access

Overview

Project Equip is a capacity-building project designed to ensure that school district teams are meeting their legal requirements regarding assistive technology and addressing all areas of the QIAT. Project Equip uses a model-lead-test approach to coach school teams through the creation of artifacts that will become their district's policies and procedures related to AT. This session will cover the design and implementation of Project Equip, along with examples of artifacts and evidence of systems change.

Content Disclosure: Easterseals Arkansas has developed a framework to assist school districts as they ensure implementation of AT for all students with disabilities. Because this is a unique framework, the session will only cover information that pertains to the effective implementation of Project Equip. This presentation will focus exclusively on Project Equip and will not include information on other similar or related AT implementation measures.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe one or more artifacts that align with areas of the QIAT.
  2. Compare district approaches between 3 Project Equip teams.
  3. Discuss the impact of two or more foundational pieces of Project Equip (e.g. implementation science, coaching methodology, meeting design, artifact design, IDEA, QIAT).
