Overview
This session will explore the speaker's journey towards acceptance of and use of hearing aids. As a middle-aged adult who has always had a slight hearing loss, she did not want to appear "different" or "old." It was only when it began to impact her work as a higher-education teacher that she elected to see an audiologist and begin to wear them. Lessons learned and strategies for helping others overcome their concerns with wearing hearing aids will be discussed.
Session Disclosure: This session is focused primarily on one individual's experience.
