2020 is often characterized as a time of uncertainty and unrest as social justice
movements surge within the context of a global pandemic. Politicians and headlines
emphasize divisiveness and often leave us with feelings of fear, anger, and
helplessness, regardless of which side of the political aisle we align with. In this
session, participants are encouraged to disengage with inflammatory rhetoric and
look through the lens of our code of ethics to see how contemporary diversity,
inclusion, and social justice issues directly impact the way we provide RT services.
In addition to the speaker, pre-recorded interview segments will be infused into this module to highlight practical strategies we can start implementing immediately to
better empower our RT environments as sites of authentic inclusion and justice. Join
us in moving ATRA towards a shared horizon of inclusive excellence!
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
1. Compare and contrast operational definitions of diversity, inclusion, and social justice
within RT settings.
2. Evaluate narratives from diverse voices framing social issues as they impact the RT
spectrum of services.
3. Explore a culturally safe pathway to advance holistic applications of inclusion and
justice within the RT profession.
