The Joy of Dementia (You gotta be kidding!) (.1 CEUs)

Across the globe, practitioners and patients are working to use play, performance, the arts and improvisation to challenge the “tragedy narrative” of dementia and create approaches that support everyone, including those diagnosed, to develop and to live with/perform dementia in new and more positive ways.

We welcome everyone looking for new and more creative ways to approach memory loss and dementia; who are interested in using diagnosis as a starting point for creativity; and who want to learn more about play, improvisation and performance as especially valuable tools for more creatively navigating the dementia experience – and our lives.

This presentation is open to everyone: program staff, advocates, care partners, people living with dementia, and other family and community members - who are looking for new, more growth-filled and creative ways to approach this issue.

We hope you will join us for a playful and philosophical look of how we can promote development, inclusion, hope…and yes, JOY in even the most difficult of lifesituations.
