You're On Mute - Lessons Learned for Effective Communication in BECx

Communication is the single most important thing we do as commissioning providers.

While commissioning standards recognize the need to establish communication protocols, communication required with key stakeholders for each design and construction phase commissioning activity is not as well defined. Ineffective communication often leads to confusion, excessive open items on issues logs, and wasted time and money, especially when stakeholders are unfamiliar with the building enclosure commissioning (BECx) process.

This presentation will highlight stakeholders' key tasks, roles, and responsibilities through the BECx process. Specific project examples and lessons learned to illustrate how to effectively communicate during design and construction phase BECx activities and with various project team members to help execute a building enclosure that meets the Owner's expectations.
