As the Pages Turn

What is the best way to verify that the Owner/User, Designer, Mechanical and Electrical Contractor, Control Contractor, and the Commissioning Provider (CxP) all understand the project control submittal with its sequence narratives, shop drawings, and integration expectations in the same way? The answer to this question, a controls page turn meeting!

There is a benefit of construction phase page turns, especially for highly technical submittals such as controls. While having this meeting is beneficial, the most important benefit is communicating via the spoken word in person and documenting the responses to assure the team is on the same page. This is best conveyed in a face-to-face meeting - seeing people’s eyes of truthfulness, hearing actual buy-in, and creating understanding by all.

Our “As The Pages Turn” presentation will consist of two sections:

Section 1: Starting with the focus on the ‘why’ and clarifying who should attend, properly prepare, and efficiently facilitate this meeting.

Section 2: Once the ‘why’ section is complete, the presentation will switch to the ‘do’ section, where the presenters will facilitate an interactive role-play ‘page turn.’ The audience will be divided into roles to review (page turn) with actual parsed control submittals. Learn how to keep the audience in control while not stifling engagement. See varying opinions and thoughts that would lead to RFI’s being written in an actual page turn.
