Janelle Griffin leads the Operations group at RTI
International where she is responsible for the operation and monitoring of MEP
systems at the 1 million square foot research campus. She utilizes her
background in engineering and commissioning to lead continued improvements in
building performance, reliability, safety, and energy efficiency. Prior to RTI
she was a commissioning project manager at Dewberry for 5 years. Her experience
includes new and existing building commissioning, and energy modeling for
healthcare, classroom, office, museum, laboratory, military, and dormitory
facilities. She believes that project delivery can be improved by bridging gaps
in communication and knowledge across project teams, resulting in high
performing buildings. Experience of note includes: RTI Campus BAS Replacement,
Pentagon Chiller Plant Integrity Study and Long-Term Plan, retro-commissioning
at MacDill Air Force Base and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center,
commissioning Veteran’s Affairs Outpatient Clinics, the Regional Medical
Center, as well as various state government and higher education facilities. Ms.
Griffin received a BS in Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering from
the University of Miami and a MS at NC State University where she focused on
energy conservation in early building design and environmental sustainability.
