Description
This two-part webinar series is a follow-up to the 2021
Annual Conference session entitled, Level of Assurance – An All-Important
Provider Question, An All-Important Owners Decision. The webinars will
cover and expand upon the material presented at the conference with more time
allotted for attendee questions and discussion. The presenters of these
sessions proclaim that marketing commissioning as a process that “ensures buildings operate as intended,” is inaccurate, introduces
unfair and unnecessary liability to commission providers, and compromises
commissioning effectiveness. They suggest that in fact, commissioning is a
high-value service that: 1) provides owners and the project team with a “level
of confidence” that buildings and systems perform per the owner’s
functional requirements, and 2) that the “level of confidence” should be
determined on a project and system specific basis, by the owner and
commissioning provider (CxP) based on the project budget and the criticality
level of the facility’s systems and mission.
