Most people in the built environment have heard about and are somewhat familiar with BIM (Building Information Modeling). This webinar goes into detail on the current state of the BIM industry from the perspective of Studio GC, a firm that specializes in BIM and provides BIM services to construction projects. The presenter describes the depth to which some cutting edge projects are going to modeling both above ceiling and in-wall services down to ¾” conduits and ½” piping, and also shares the shortcomings of less rigorous BIM Models.

The StudioGC BIM experience is coupled with the perspective of a commission firm, Grumman/Butkus Associates, which is currently working with StudioGC to leverage BIM models on projects as sophisticated as a new data center and cleanroom on a major laboratory campus.
