Gain Continuing Education Hours From EBSCOhost’s Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection™
BBS Provider #PCE 50
What is EBSCOhost?
EBSCOhost is like using Google – but only getting results from scientific and professional journals! As a CAMFT member you have unlimited, 24/7, access to EBSCOhost’s Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection™! This Collection is a database of almost 600 journals devoted to the fields of psychology and the behavioral sciences. Access to the Collection allows you to search for peer-reviewed information pertaining to your professional interests, whether clinically-driven, personally-motivated, or research-oriented.
The Collection’s search capabilities are quite impressive, including “SmartText Searching,” which automatically locates articles based on the key words you submitted. Best of all, you can download and print full-text articles, not merely summaries or abstracts of articles!
How would I use EBSCOhost to gain CE hours?
Participants will gain in-depth knowledge on specific, self-guided areas by accessing articles on EBSCOhost, a sophisticated database of 600 scholarly journals, and writing and essay.
To gain hours, you would read an article on EBSCOhost and complete an assessment consisting of two essay questions. Your response should be 250 words. CAMFT has stored articles of interest to LMFTs in CAMFT’s Library of Articles culled from the Collection TM, which you can easily access without searching EBSCOhost. Alternatively, you may search for an article of interest to you and complete the Assessment Questions. Remember – EBSCOhost is a CAMFT member benefit, so you will need your member ID and password.
How many CE hours may I gain by reading articles from EBSCOhost and completing assessments?
One hour of continuing education credit will be issued for every 1-6 pages of article content. (i.e., if an article is between 7 and 12 pages, 2 CE credits will be issued).
Effective July 1, 2015, BBS-licensees may obtain all of their required CE hours through self-study (previously limited to one-half of the total required hours), if the self-study course is offered by an acceptable CE provider. Pre-licensed individuals may NOT gain hours toward licensure via self- study.
What is the fee per CE hour?
|CAMFT Members||$10 per CE hour|
|Non-members||$15 per CE hour|
