Workshop Description

This workshop will provide participants with information about both the helpful and required structures of clinical supervision, as well as how to navigate the support-directive continuum within the supervisory relationship to address common supervisory dilemmas. We will also be exploring ways to integrate trauma-informed principles and an equity lens into clinical supervision and examining the comparative merits of different supervisory methods. Participants will belearning through a combination of didactic instruction, experiential exercises, videos and small group discussion.

Learning Objectives
1. Name one example each of a supervision regulation, a workplace policy and individualized structure of supervision.
2. Identify three steps required for becoming a CAMFT Certified Supervisor.
3. Identify which one of the four support/directive quadrants match their preferred style.
4. Identify one aspect of their Privileged Self and one aspect of their Subjugated Self.
5. Provide one example of Trauma-Informed Supervision applied to their own practice.
6. Name the benefits and pitfalls of the two methods of supervision.
