Workshop Description
This course focuses on the external structure of supervision: Basic Aspects of Supervision; Supervision Settings; Practical Considerations in Supervision; Evaluation of Supervisee and Supervisor. This six-hour course may be used to fulfill a portion of the requirements for becoming a CAMFT Certified Supervisor and law and ethics course requirements. This workshop can also stand on its own as a resource for anyone who provides clinical supervision to prelicensed therapists and satisfies the BBS’ supervision requirements.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop video, participants will be able to:
1.Recognize major models of marital and family therapy and supervision, in terms of their philosophical assumptions and pragmatic implications.
2.Evaluate and identify problems in therapist-client and supervisor-therapist-client relationships.
3.Structure supervision, solve problems, and implement supervisory interventions within a range of supervisory modalities.
4.Identify distinctive issues that arise in supervision-of-supervision.
5.Describe contextual variables such as culture, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation spirituality and SES.
Explain the purposes, process and procedures of CAMFT Approved Supervisor preparation.
