This webinar focuses on upon legal and ethical issues which commonly arise when treating clients who are suicidal and how mental health professionals can identify risk factors for suicide and how to effectively implement reasonable preventive measures when treating such clients. This one-hour workshop can be applied toward fulfilling the BBS's continuing education requirement for law and ethics.

The presentation will provide an overview of:
  • Describe key legal issues which exist when treating suicidal clients;
  • Explain the process of identifying risk factors for suicide and what it means to implement reasonable preventive measures when treating a client who is at risk of suicide.
