“Harmonious Collaboration with a Psychiatrist” Presented by Donna Ehlers, MD 2 CE Hours

Description:
This presentation will engage each participant in learning the basics of choosing a psychiatrist with whom to collaborate. The tools of discernment will be clarified. The therapist will become acculturated to the psychiatrist’s expectations therefore creating a vibrant, harmonious, collaborative effort to offer each client holistic care at the highest level.
This learning seminar will include best practices and didactic presentation as well as experiential opportunities. The latter will include modeling of communication techniques, review of important boundary issues, documentation vignettes and risk determination.

Participants will feel increased confidence with enhanced education and examples, learning to dialogue with psychiatrists in a mutually beneficial manner to enhance client care. Each participant will be able to present his/her clients for collaboration in a succinct and professional outline. In addition, we will discuss a very brief introduction to psychopharmacology.
