CURES 2.0: What Physicians Need to Know Now

Thank you

This live web event has ended. Thank you for attending.

Effective October 2, 2018, it became mandatory for all health care practitioners to consult and review the California’s Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) 2.0 system prior to prescribing, ordering, administering, or furnishing a Schedule II-IV controlled substance. A healthcare practitioner who fails to consult the CURES database must be referred to their state professional licensing board for administrative sanctions, as deemed appropriate by that board.

This webinar will provide an overview of the requirements of this mandate. After attending this presentation, physician learners will be able to:

  • Discuss when a mandated prescriber must consult the CURES 2.0 database.
  • Identify which healthcare providers must consult the CURES 2.0 database and the circumstances that require the query.
  • List the exemptions for not consulting CURES.
  • Discuss the administrative sanctions for noncompliance.
  • Identity the requirements for the new security prescription forms.
This webinar will be recorded and available to all registrants after the event.
