Description

On January 1, 2021, significant changes to outpatient E/M coding and documentation requirements took effect, which is good news for physicians. With a goal of reducing the administrative burdens of older requirements, the new guidelines allow physicians and other healthcare professionals to code based on total time spent on the date of the encounter or on medical decision making (MDM) – whichever is most financially advantageous. This means less time checking boxes in your EHR and more time helping your patients, but you must understand to document what’s important as pending audits are on the horizon.

If you have yet to know what the new E/M billing and coding changes mean for your practice or have yet to finalize implementation, join us for the one-hour webinar, Understanding 2021 Updates to E/M Billing and Coding. Mary Jean Sage, an expert in healthcare business operations and reimbursement management, will provide details and recommendations to ensure a smooth transition to the new guidelines.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • Which E/M services guidelines have changed
  • CPT’s new Table of Medical Decision Making – what each element means
  • How to document the elements of MDM
  • How to document time for new and established patient visits
The webcast recording and presentation slides will be available for all registrants after the presentation. Space is limited, so register today!
