Description

Staying ahead of annual employment law updates can be overwhelming, especially now as ever-changing pandemic-related guidelines and mandates continue to dominate the landscape. This webinar provides overview of the 2022 employment laws impacting medical practices and changing COVID-19 workplace regulations and recommendations for proper implementation and compliance.

WorkWise Law, PC wishes to clarify a statement made during the webinar regarding the allowance of exemptions for Medicare and Medicaid certified providers and suppliers that are under the CMS vaccine mandate. Though it is true that an employee cannot “test out” of the vaccine mandate, (i.e. test weekly instead of getting the vaccine), employees who qualify for an exemption due a disability or a strongly held religious belief may continue to work for their employer, subject to additional safety precautions being put in place. If employees do not qualify for an exemption, employers should work with counsel to find an appropriate solution, which may include placing the employee in a 100% remote position without any patient or staff contact, on an unpaid leave of absence, or termination.

    Renee earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1997, and received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco. Renee received her mediation certificate from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University. Renee has been practicing for over 20 years. She worked a number of years at the prestigious Plaintiff’s law firm of Green, Broillet, & Wheeler, where she became proficient in representing plaintiffs against large corporations.

    In the last decade, Renee has represented countless employees in employment discrimination lawsuits, including cases involving disability, race, gender, and age discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and a variety of wage and hour disputes.
