Description

According to the CDC, drug overdose deaths and opioid-involved deaths continue to increase in the United States. Nearly half of all opioid overdose deaths involve a prescription opioid, putting both patient and prescribing provider at risk. CAP’s next webinar, Good Outcomes in an Era of Tough Choices: Legal Risks and Solutions for Opioid Prescribers, will cover the latest laws and legal challenges surrounding the opioid crisis. This presentation will help answer the fundamental question: How do I treat patients with compassion and care in a medically sound and legally safe way?

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Understand how and why the opioid epidemic poses numerous medical and legal dilemmas and risks for patients and prescribers
  2. Identify the latest law enforcement activity nationwide and the specific risks it poses to hospitals and providers
  3. Know the solutions available to meet all of these challenges in a way that fosters good clinical outcomes, prevents or mitigates claims, and permits sound medical and legally compliant practice.
Good Outcomes in an Era of Tough Choices: Legal Risks and Solutions for Opioid Prescribers is presented by Steve Meister, criminal defense lawyer and principal of Meister Law Offices.

This webinar will be recorded for registrants who are not able to attend the live session.
