This live web event has ended. Thank you for attending.

Stories have been around as long as humanity, yet many actuaries shy away from the narrative form. Why? Are we convinced that there is nothing dramatic about a reserve study? Can an actuary not play the hero?

Join us on our epic quest from ancient times to the present day, as we explore how monsters, magic and mystery can transform the way you communicate the outcomes and implications of your work.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize common storytelling mistakes that many actuaries make, and identify such shortcomings in their own presentations.
  2. More effectively consider what their audience members want, need, and are able to learn.
  3. Understand and recognize different story-telling structures.
  4. Improve their ability to connect with Board members, company executives and others outside the actuarial community.
