Agile for Actuaries - Microlearning Series

Enjoy our popular Agile for Actuaries webinar in a new bite-sized microlearning format. Learn the basics of what it means to be agile, how to apply agile techniques to actuarial work, and ways to get started with agile at your organization.

Agile approaches grew from the software development domain but are increasingly being used in other industries. Agile works well for any kind of knowledge work, where people with subject matter experts collaborate and take part in analysis and/or development. Today 80% of the workforce is engaged in knowledge work and the application of agile techniques is expanding.

This series outlines how agile approaches work and discusses their application for actuaries. Starting with a non-software explanation of how agile projects operate, we will discuss each of the agile components and if/how they would work for actuaries. We will also briefly discuss how agile overlaps with design thinking, lean start-up, and Kanban.
