In America, states have played a more central role in the regulation of insurance since the McCarran-Ferguson Act in 1945. However, the federal government still retains jurisdiction and oversight over the whole insurance industry and steps in regarding matters of a national concern. This series goes over the roles of government at both the state and federal levels in America.
