Are you attending the CAS Spring Meeting as a New Associate or New Fellow? This experience can be both exciting and overwhelming! Join volunteers from the CAS New Members Working Group and CAS Staff for a webinar session where we will guide you everything you need to know to navigate the CAS meeting like a pro!

In this session we will cover a range of topics to ease any anxieties and set you up for success. From understanding the conference schedule and sessions to registration and receptions, we’ve got you covered.

What you can expect to learn:

  1. Spring Meeting Basics: We will walk through the schedule meeting, specifically paying close attention to events for New Associates and Fellows.
  2. Preparing for Success: Learn about the CAS Meeting app and other tips on how you can prepare ahead of time before the Spring Meeting.
  3. Registration: We will cover what’s included in your registration, plus all you need to know about bringing guests to the Spring Meeting.
  4. Question and Answer Session: Bring your questions to our live Q&A session. Our panel of experienced Spring Meeting attendees and CAS staff will provide advice and insights to address your specific needs.

  • Melissa Epstein, ACAS

    Melissa Epstein is a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Verisk (formerly known as ISO), based in Jersey City. She has experience primarily in personal lines, in particular, rebuilding the ratemaking systems used for Dwelling and Personal Inland Marine insurance in a modern cloud environment. She holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Union College (NY), is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

  • Ben Markowski, FCAS

    Ben Markowski is a Director of Corporate Affairs supporting the Global Specialty Lines (GSL) Executive Team on a variety of Strategic and Corporate Development initiatives. He has nearly 10 years of experience in the P&C Industry, including 9 with Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions (fka OneBeacon) in a variety of Pricing and Corporate Reserving Actuarial roles. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, (CAS) and has a BS in Actuarial Science from the University of St. Thomas. Ben is the current volunteer chair of the New Members Working Group (NMWG) at the CAS.

  • John X. Potter, FCAS, MAAA

    John Potter, FCAS, MAAA is a Manager with EY’s Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice. John’s role primarily involves assessing insurance reserves for both insurance and corporate clients across several lines of business. He enjoys volunteering with the New Members Working Group, University Liaison Program, and Student Programs Task Force. Outside of work, John likes to play beach volleyball, watch Jeopardy, and spend time with his family.

  • Becca Reich, FCAS, MAAA

    Becca Reich is the Vice President & Chief Actuary at Donegal Insurance Group, working at the home office in Pennsylvania. She has over 18 years of experience, working primarily in reserving. She now leads the reserving team and has been Donegal’s Appointed Actuary, signing all of their Statements of Actuarial Opinion, for the last 4 years. Becca is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau’s Actuarial Committee. Becca enjoys welcoming new members to the CAS as a current member, and past volunteer chair, of the New Members Working Group and serving all members through the Volunteer Resources Working Group.
