Nurse case management certification in managed care organizations (MCO) is underrepresented in the current literature. This study aimed to explore the increase in knowledge gained by nurse case managers who have successfully obtained Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification through the Commission for Case Management Certification (CCMC). Through this study, the research team at Humana sought to assess the impact of certification on clinical practice in order to develop strategies that support professional growth, expand clinician knowledge, and improve member (patient) experience outcomes. This session will share the study findings.

• Identify benefits of CCM certification described by study outcomes.
• Distinguish the value of CCM certification.
