ETHICS ALERT!
Speakers:
Gail Ballin, MS, LCMHC, CCM
Kristin Tugman, Ph.D., CRC, LPC

COVID-19 magnified our mental health crisis, which affected 50 million people long before the pandemic. We are now facing an even more dire mental health crisis. The workplace has a huge opportunity to establish itself as the frontline for behavioral health resources and intervention. This session will discuss how employers can tackle three major hurdles in addressing mental health conditions: decreasing stigma, increasing awareness and improving access to quality care.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Describe the current state of mental health conditions in the U.S. and how the workplace can play a critical role in improving it.
  • Discuss actionable steps for employers to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and improve access to mental health care for their employees- including identifying the right behavioral health resources and tools.
  • Apply the business case for employers to prioritize and provide mental health resources- including improved productivity, reduced medical costs, and better return to work outcomes for employees on leave.
