The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) was the major event in the Church in the twentieth century. It is also perhaps the most misunderstood event as well. This course will examine Vatican II’s Constitution on Divine Revelation. This document takes into account the complex historical situation within which the Council had to explain and make reasonable the fact that Catholics believe that God has revealed Himself to the world in Jesus Christ. This course will address the nature of Divine Revelation, its importance, and the way that God established for it to be communicated down through the ages.
