This interactive educational resource contains video, case studies, a glossary of ERD terms and other supporting materials to provide physicians with an understanding of the meaning and application of the ERDs in Catholic health care, the guidance they provide and the special role physicians play in carrying out the healing ministry of Jesus. The video features instructor Dan Sulmasy, MD, Ph.D., physician and ethicist from the University of Chicago Medical School, along with physicians, ethicists and church leaders from Catholic health care in a multipart format that addresses the Introduction and each of the six parts of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Components include: Prayers, case studies and response keys, facilitator guide, glossary, selected readings and media, evaluation and acknowledgments.
