Across the country, more than 40 million family caregivers are caring for an adult living with a chronic health condition. Whether grappling with a new dementia diagnosis or walking through the final stages of cancer, these untrained , unpaid and under-served caregivers often don't know where to turn for assistance.

The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was born out of the need of these families. This community-based program offers one-on-one coaching, a resource library, educational sessions and discussions, support groups, volunteer companions and more. This community-based program is a life-line for the families of individuals living with chronic conditions.

This webinar will describe how the Family Caregivers Center got started, how it is operated primarily through volunteers, and the impact it is having on the community.
