Published in 2015, Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si’ called on “all men and women of good will” to acknowledge the urgency of our environmental challenges and work to change the way we work and live to be in harmony with creation. The Pope’s appeal recognizes the scientific consensus that human activity is causing irreversible harm to the environment and those living in poverty often suffer the harshest consequences, while having the least ability to cope.
