There are data to show that some physicians continue to practice longer
than they should. There are anecdotal stories of physicians who discontinued
practice too soon, finding a life void of the meaning and satisfaction. This session
will outline a process that can help participants find a transition that is
“just right” for themselves, and consequently better for patient care.
Objectives:
- Identify the liabilities of practicing at an advance age.
- Cite how the patient-physician relationship brings healing to both.
- Describe how to be intentional (strategic) in planning to transition your career.
- Discuss how to find meaning through service after career compensation has ended.
