This course provides continuing education for physicians. A general attendance certificate is also available.
Healthcare professional education is the new frontier of medical
missions. Do you teach or are you planning to teach in an international medical
school, residency, or other healthcare training program? Teaching Healthcare
in a Global Setting was designed to help you provide quality academics
while navigating cultural considerations.
In 2019, a group of those involved in medical education as
missions came together to develop a training program that would help them and
others improve their service. The inaugural training, Cross-Cultural
Healthcare Education: A Workshop for Educators, was hosted in September
2019 in person at the Christian Health Service Corps training center. Participants
agreed that this useful training should be offered annually. When the COVID-19
global pandemic was declared in 2020, faculty and co-sponsoring organizations
for the training discussed the importance of continuing to offer training
resources for teaching medicine internationally and transitioned the planned
sessions to an online enduring material platform.
The Teaching Healthcare in a Global Setting faculty
and co-sponsoring organizations invite you to access the sessions at your own
pace in any order you choose and hope to continue building on these resources with future live and
virtual trainings.
