Many physicians feel uncomfortable or helpless when interacting with patients with dementia and their caregivers, so they avoid the interactions. Yet most of us know people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, usually within our own families or social networks. This talk will address healthy ways we can engage patients and assist caregivers as they live with and support their loved ones. Resources and strategies across the timeline of neurocognitive decline will be reviewed.
