This presentation aims to familiarize clinical personnel with ACEs (adverse childhood experiences): what they are, how they affect physical and mental health, how the importance of ACEs are being recognized in many disciplines, how resilience factors play an important role in countering their effects, how we can become more aware of ACEs in our personal, professional and clinical lives.

  • Identify how adverse childhood experiences affect both patients and practitioners.
  • Describe how to incorporate the concept of adverse childhood experiences into improving physical and mental health.
