Description

[1.5 Credit Hour] This webinar is available for physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner continuing education. A general attendance certificate is also available.

Speakers: Darrell Bock, ThM, PhD; Sandy Christiensen, MD, FACOG; Roland Warren

Healthcare professionals and pastoral care face a daunting task amid discussions about complicated pregnancies in a post-Roe America. How do we speak effectively, truthfully and graciously while giving meaningful care in such an environment? Join us for this critical conversation as we consider the theological, medical, legal and pastoral perspectives required to serve patients well.

In this webinar, Dr. Darrell Bock from The Hendricks Center at Dallas Theological Seminary will moderate a discussion with Dr. Sandy Christiansen, a board-certified OB/Gyn who is the National Medical Director for Care Net, and Roland Warren, who is the President and CEO of Care Net. Together, we will examine the pastoral and medical support needed by women who have complicated pregnancies in this post-Roe world. The webinar will also include time for a Q&A with our guest speakers, allowing you to contribute your questions and thoughts to the conversation.

Objectives:
1. Identify and respond to patients struggling with a difficult pregnancy decision.
2. Describe how obstetrical physicians can work with non-obstetric healthcare professionals to formulate a comprehensive life-affirming care plan for patients facing a difficult pregnancy decision.
3. Discuss how healthcare professionals who are caring for a patient with a crisis pregnancy can incorporate local pastoral resources such as pro-life pregnancy support centers and churches.

Note: When registering, if you don't have an account already, you will need to create a CMDA account when prompted.
