Individuals who choose to become leaders do so because working with people is the most meaningful aspect of their job, plus, the opportunity to mentor and grow professionals to reach beyond their own goals and expectations. Being a leader is gratifying but at times can be equally as challenging. Dealing with people means dealing with different personalities, some of which may be difficult and disruptive to staff collaboration and perhaps even patient safety. Staff disruptions and interpersonal conflict require a thoughtful and consistent approach by leadership. This panel of leaders will share their strategies and recommendations for managing conflict in your work settings.

OBJECTIVES:
  1. Define and recognize negative behaviors.
  2. Review suggested practices to deal with conflict.
  3. Develop a strategy to support an employee needing direction and be prepared to know when to all efforts to redirect conflict have failed.
