With 2020 in the rear view mirror, the CMSA Public Policy Committee is looking into the future to see how legislation, already in place or newly put into action during the pandemic, will impact and possibly change our healthcare system. In this session, we will discuss the Public Policy Agenda for 2021-2023, discuss ways to identify topics or legislative ideas that spark your interest, then ultimately discover how to turn that spark into policy using grass root techniques.

OBJECTIVES: 

1. Discover state and federal legislative processes for how to introduce and pass new laws.
2. Demonstrate the value of grassroots advocacy for healthcare policy at the state and national level.
3. Discover the legislative agenda for the CMSA Public Policy Committee for 2021-2023, and the potential impact for professional case managers and the clients served.
