In this first of three videos, faculty will begin with providing an overview of CRE (Commercial Real Estate) CLOs (collateralized loan obligations), their evolution and role in capital markets. Characteristics of the underlying collateral will be discussed, followed by a discussion on the credit analysis of CRE CLOs. This webinar will end with a comparison of CRE CLOs with other forms of CRE securitizations.

    Nitin Bhasin is the Co-Head of the CMBS ratings group at Kroll Bond Rating Agency, where he manages issuance and surveillance of credit ratings for Conduit, Single Borrower, Large Loan, CRE CLO, SBC, and SFR securitizations. He has been at KBRA since 2011, and has been instrumental in the company’s early development and its subsequent growth. During this time, KBRA's CMBS group has rated over $400B in CRE securitizations across 500+ transactions.

    Previously, among other roles, Nitin was at Wells Fargo Securities’ securitization and proprietary investing desks, where he structured and banked CRE CDOs, and made equity and debt principal investments in CRE assets, respectively.

    Nitin holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and dual bachelors’ degrees in Architecture and Building Science. He was named among the 50 Under 40 rising stars in real estate by the Real Estate Forum in 2014. Nitin is also a CFA charter holder.
