Oregon HB 4204 – What You Need to Know:
The 7/23 Edition will cover the full scope and impact of a new emergency law in Oregon that imposes sweeping changes on commercial real estate loans. House Bill 4204 requires all lenders authorized to do business in Oregon to provide notice by mail of the new law’s protections to "all of the lender's borrowers" by August 30. The law prohibits default mitigation steps, requires mandatory payment deferral, and imposes a foreclosure moratorium and other measures through September 30 with a potential extension option. Governor Kate Brown (D) signed the bill into law on June 30.
